Fire officials say a half-acre fire off Tell Boulevard in Pacific Shores Monday Night is being investigated as suspicious.

According to Fort Dick Fire Chief Randy Crawford, the fire was considered suspicious for a number of reasons, but its cause has still not been determined.

According to the department’s Facebook page, the fire started sometime before 8 p.m. and Pelican Bay State Prison firefighters were called in to assist.

Crawford said firefighters had the fire under control in about 10 minutes and remained on scene for about an hour to mop up.

He said about 19 total personnel responded, including a crew from CAL Fire.

No injuries were reported.
