Crescent City Police are chalking up another win to K9 Kai for sniffing out illegal drugs.
According to CCPD, Kai was deployed during a traffic stop Friday. When the K9 alerted officers to the presence of narcotics, a search was conducted.
Officers say they found 4.5 pounds of marijuana, 3.5 grams of meth, a meth pipe, shotgun shells and a loaded handgun.
Driver Aharon Hook, 47, was arrested and booked into county jail.
According to jail reports, Hook was booked for possession of a controlled substance, carrying a loaded firearm in public, being a felon in possession of a firearm, illegally possessing ammunition, possessing more than one ounce of marijuana and driving without a license.
His bail was set at $100,000.
