Tractor Supply is hosting a grand opening ceremony on June 30 for its new Crescent City location at 625 Main St., next to Rite Aid.
The national chain store specializes in farming, pet and outdoor supplies.
The store will host a family-friendly celebration June 28-July 2, giving a 10 percent discount on purchases during that time.
As part of their main event on June 30, Tractor Supply has partnered with the local 4-H group to put on a barbecue, bake sale and petting zoo.
Doug Brooks has been appointed as the local manager for the Crescent City Tractor Supply and has managed four previous Tractor Supply locations over the last five years.
“We are a chain store, but we are still a community store,” said Brooks. We brand ourselves as for ‘Life Out Here.’ If you’ve got a small ranch or farm, this is the place you’ll want to go.”
True to their name, Tractor Supply stocks a variety of general tractor parts and can special order parts for most name brand tractors, excluding Kubota. The store will also stock hay bales sourced from Modoc County and offers free ship-to-store options when buying from their online store. This location also provides a pet wash station with professional grooming equipment.
Aside from Brooks, the store’s 15-person staff was hired locally.
“At Tractor Supply, community is at our core and we understand the value of building a team with local roots,” said Brooks. “Our Crescent City team members live the rural lifestyle just like our customers and serve as a resource to equip them with the products and seasoned advice they need for ‘Life Out Here.’”
Brooks plans to work closely with the local animal shelter, as well as the FFA and 4-H programs and encourages any other local groups wishing to collaborate with the store for a fundraiser to reach out.
“I’m excited to be a part of this community,” Brooks said. “We hope to contribute a great deal.”
Tractor Supply is a national chain founded 1938, now spanning 49 states with roughly 1,700 stores.
