Details are still sparse regarding a stabbing and robbery suspect being sought by Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office. Michael Clary Jr., 31, is to be considered armed and dangerous and was last seen northeast of Crescent City, according to law enforcement authorities.
Sheriffs Commander Bill Steven said the stabbing occurred Friday morning at about 6 a.m. in a homeless camp off Elk Valley Road.
The victim, Tommy Osborne, 57, of Crescent City, was taken to Sutter Coast Hospital for treatment. Steven said Clary stabbed him while robbing him of some cash.
In 2014, then-District Attorney Dale Trigg called Clary “a career criminal” after Clary received a four-year prison sentence for robbery, with a special allegation of a prior offense. Trigg said if Clary is convicted again in the future, he will face stiffer sentences.
Friday, Chief Probation Officer Lonnie Reyman estimated Clary served close to the entire sentence before being released.
Calls to the Department of Corrections Patrol Division were not returned.
Authorities say if you see Clary, do not approach him but contact the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office immediately by calling 911 or 707-464-4191.
