The Del Norte County Board of Supervisors agenda for today includes a discussion and direction to staff to draft a letter inviting Pres. Donald Trump to take a tour of Last Chance Grade. The item was requested by 5th District Supervisor Bob Berkowitz. No further information is available on the agenda.
The board will also be discussing the use of budgeted travel funds for Supervisor Chair Chris Howard to accept an invitation to attend a reception in San Francisco by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan.
Supervisors will also hear a presentation on homelessness in Del Norte County by Mike Thornton, of True North Organizing Network.
A member of the board’s Cannabis Working Group will give a presentation about its recent meetings and direction regarding the creation of commercial cannabis ordinances.
The board will also discuss and consider sending a letter to Gov. Jerry Brown, opposing a proposal to change inverse condemnation liability when public utilities cause wildfires.
The board will also hear and discuss a possible appointment to the California Coastal Commission by Supervisor Berkowitz.
Board meetings are held the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, starting at 10 a.m. in the Flynn Center, 981 H Street. Public comment is welcome.
