The Sea Cruise Show & Shine put windshield wipers, car wax and window defoggers to the test as rain fell Friday with impunity on downtown Crescent City.
About 30 cars showed up downtown, many of which didn’t stick around in the rain for the cruise. Police and city personnel went forward as planned with the cruise around Crescent City, but only a few car owners remained to follow through.
However, all forecasts predict a sunny Saturday for the annual Sea Cruise Car Show. According to the National Weather Service Office in Eureka, Saturday should reach a high of 61 in Crescent City under partly sunny skies. Clear skies are expected to remain until Tuesday with highs in the low 60s.
There will be a lot to do and see this weekend, starting with a pancake breakfast 7 a.m. today at the Elks Lodge, 359 H St.
Cars should start lining up on the grass in Beachfront Park between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Also enjoy music from the 50s through the 70s, get some raffle tickets for a chance to win great prizes, and hang out for the Miss Sea Cruise awards at the Beachfront Park Gazebo at 3 p.m.
Sunday features a Poker Run open to all starting at the Kids Town playground. Registration opens at 9 a.m. and closes at 10 a.m.
