Though mail-in ballots are expected to be sent out Tuesday, voters likely won’t get them until the weekend, Del Norte County Clerk-Recorder Alissia Northrup said Friday.

Northrup said voters can obtain a ballot at her office starting Monday, but because it’s Columbus Day, they won’t be mailed out until the following day.

“In the past people start getting them by the weekend,” she said, “by next weekend people are receiving them.”

The last day to register to vote in the Nov. 6, election is Oct. 22. For more information about statewide races, voter status or to register to vote, visit www.sos.ca.gov.
