The Del Norte Nonprofit Alliance is encouraging residents to give their time, talents and donations to local nonprofits this holiday season.

The organization’s “Give Local” campaign is modeled after the national “Giving Tuesday” campaign that begins today — the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, according to a Nonprofit Alliance press release. Nonprofit Alliance coordinator Keri Mosey notes that there are nearly 180 nonprofits in Del Norte that provide services to residents that need help.

“Before you donate money or volunteer your time and talents for a good cause, make sure your generosity stays right here in your community,” Mosey said in a written statement.
