The school district will hold a series of meetings in Crescent City, Klamath and Smith River next week as it continues to work on its Local Control Accountability Plan for the next three years.
Del Norte Unified School District is seeking input on its plan for addressing the needs of low-income, English language learners and foster students. Based on the outcome of previous public meetings, the district will focus on better communication with parents and ways to get parents involved in local schools, said spokesman Michael Hawkins. District representatives will also focus on the effectiveness of existing programs, he said.
Meetings will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Del Norte Community School, 400 W. Harding Avenue in Crescent City; 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Margaret Keating School, 300 Minot Creek Road in Klamath; and at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Smith River School, 564 W. First Street in Smith River.
