Discover a kaleidoscope of wildflowers at the latest Tolowa Dunes Stewards field trip this weekend.
Botanist Laura Julian will lead a two-mile round-trip hike into coastal dunes following a slide show presentation on Sunday. She'll focus on the native plants and flowers that are in bloom and discuss how they have adapted to a harsh world of sand and wind, according to an organization press release.
The program is sponsored by the Tolowa Dunes Stewards and the Redwood Parks Conservancy. People should meet at 1 p.m. on Sunday at the Lake Earl Wildlife Area Headquarters, 2591 Old Mill Road in Crescent City.
Wear comfortable shoes, long-sleeved shirt, pants and bring drinking water, snacks and mosquito repellent. For more information, call Sue at (707) 465-6191.
