The Tsunami Allstarz Level 3 team was in Orlando, Florida recently to compete in one of the most prestigious youth cheerleading tournaments in the country — the D2 Summit Championship.

Only teams who qualify by finishing as one of the most outstanding teams at various competitions around the country throughout the year are eligible to attend the Summit. The Tsunami Allstarz not only qualified, they flourished at the national event held May 11.

Coach Nicole Soule said the team wrapped up their season with their highest score of the year at the Summit.

“These girls performed their very best with the changes we had to make in order to be able to compete at the D2 Summit Championship,” Soule said in an email to the Triplicate. “I am so proud of these girls, as we come from a small community, and to receive this bid to compete at the D2 Summit was an honor. We would like to thank our community and sponsors for supporting our fundraisers and donating to help us go to the Summit.”

The D2 Summit wraps up the 2019 season for the Allstarz, but they are already starting to look ahead to next season. Soule said the Allstarz will be holding their annual team placements on June 6 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for boys and girls ages 7 to 18.

“Come and join our competitive team and see all the exciting competitions and places we compete at. Allstarz give opportunity for boys and girls to fundraise to help defer the costs of the program.”

The Tsunami Allstarz will also host a hip-hop camp June 8-9 from noon to 4 p.m. for kids 11 to 18 years old.

Feel free to stop by the Allstarz gym, located at 2361 Lake Earl Drive for more information, or with any questions. Soule said you can also message the program on Facebook at Tsunami All-Starz, or Tsunami Cheer & Tumble.
