crash

A 73 year-old male died after crashing his vehicle off the side of U.S. Highway 101 just north of mile post marker 16 at 10:17 yesterday morning

He was traveling northbound when he lost control of his 2003 Suzuki sport utility vehicle and veered off the roadway to the east, causing his vehicle to overturn and crash into a Redwood tree.

No one else was in the vehicle or hurt by the crash, but the driver, a resident of Brookings, Ore., sustained fatal injuries. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, according to a press release from the California Highway Patrol.
