Wildlife biologist Keith Bensen will discuss the changing ocean environment from the bluffs at Point St. George on Sunday.
Part of the Tolowa Dunes Stewards’ summer nature programs, Bensen, who works with Redwood National and State Parks, will also touch on why the nearshore ocean environment in the area is one of the most productive in the world. Participants will be able to view numerous seabirds and marine mammals and will discover some of the best places and times to watch “one of the greatest wildlife shows on Earth,” according to a Tolowa Dunes Stewards news release.
The program is also sponsored by the Redwood Parks Conservancy.
Bensen’s presentation is 1 p.m.-2:30 p.m. at the Point St. George Heritage Area at the very west end of Washington Boulevard and Radio Road. Bring drinking water and a blanket or something to sit on.
