Clouds held back a light rain until after the end of the night tree lighting in the Tsunami Landing Plaza near the library
Friday night. Spectators poured into the plaza following the lighted parade to hear carols by the Del Norte High School Madrigals Choir before Mayor Pro Tem Heidi Kime counted down to the lighting of the Christmas Tree.
The parade featured 23 entries, judged by Dick and Rene Braden, Gabriella and Andy Friedman, and Robin and Ray Madison.
In first place was Pacific Pride Fishing vessel, followed by Remax Coastal Redwoods, with Girl Scouts Service Unit 133 coming in third.
