Redwood National and State Parks rangers are seeking the public’s help in identifying a male car burglary suspect.

The suspect is connected with an early November burglary on Newton B. Drury Parkway in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, according to a national and state parks press release.

The visitors had returned from hiking when they observed a suspicious adult male looking into their vehicle, according to the press release. Moments later they saw the same person attempt to break into the passenger side window of their vehicle.

When they confronted the burglar, he ran into a nearby silver Dodge pickup and fled north on the parkway, according to the release.

According to park officials, the vehicle owners had a running camera on their dashboard that was able to capture the suspect’s face. Rangers have not been able to identify the suspect and is asking that anyone with information call Ranger Troy at 707-465-7551.
