COVID vaccine

I decided to get my shot because I felt like it was the best way to protect my family. I am getting married soon, and my fiancé and I are planning a small wedding with family, including my grandparents. To me, getting the shot was an opportunity to protect them, as well as my community.

Getting my vaccine was fairly easy. I live in Del Norte County, so when public health here announced they were opening up vaccine availability for everyone older than 18, I jumped at the chance, and made an appointment on the Walgreens website. My appointment actually got moved up, and I got my shot at the Walgreens in Crescent City sooner than I expected. I received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine and the only side-effect I experienced was a sore arm.

Recent reports about potentially harmful side-effects of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine have not caused me great concern, as the amount of people negatively impacted or dying from COVID-19, greatly outweigh the potential negative impacts of any vaccine.
