Dave McGlasson, born March 15, 1946, in Forest Grove, Oregon, to Neil and Mildred (Wilson) McGlasson, died December 29, 2017, in his home in Dallas, Oregon.
Dave attended school in Forest Grove and graduated in 1963, from Forest Grove High School where he was captain of the golf team and senior class president. After a period attending University of Oregon, Dave entered into a career as a custom home builder in both Washington County and Lincoln County, Oregon, and Crescent City. Dave retired in 2008 and moved back to Oregon to be near his best friend, Marilyn McGlasson, and stepdaughter, Julie Rohrer. During his retirement, Dave took up painting and enjoyed painting special pieces for others. He put his sharp intellect to good use, becoming the “Champ” when playing cards and Scrabble with friends and family. He enjoyed traveling to his family’s Astoria home and to Mexico.
He was known for his funny sense of humor, kind heart and ability to bring out the best in others.
In addition to Marilyn McGlasson and Julie Rohrer of Hillsboro, Oregon, he is survived by his sister, Donna (McGlasson) Hufford of Orick; his brother, Dan McGlasson of Crescent City; and surrogate daughter and grandson, Trina and Canyon Gastineau, of Grants Pass, Oregon; as well as seven nieces and nephews and 12 grandnieces and nephews.
In lieu of a service at this time, a Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.
