Robert Wayne Young passed away on Nov. 19, 2018, at the age of 71, in Crescent City. He had a lot of problems and sicknesses. We had a beautiful day, went home, and he was gone within the hour.

He was born June 11, 1947, to Robert S. Young and Dorothy Dexter Young (Bussard) in West Covina. Robert was in the U.S. Army in Viet Nam, serving from 1966 to 1968. He was married on Sept 15, 1973, to Charlene Young and they raised three children, Angel D. Young, Stormy L. Scott, Travis Scott and two other daughters, Kimberly Young and Linda Young, along with four nieces and nephews and many other children.

Robert was a hook tender and choker setter for Simpson’s Logging. He became a Christian in 2015. Robert liked camping with all the kids. We cut wood, hauled it, went fishing, hunting and traveled a lot. We were always working on trucks and cars. We did everything together and were always laughing and joking around. Most of all, riding his Harley Davidson was his love and joy!

He had a love for people and was always visiting with his best friends, Clark Nuss and Don and Jerry Johnson. He loved his ice cream, Pepsi and steaks.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Dexter Young (Bussard); stepdad, Gene Bussard; Dad, Robert Young; sister, Patricia Wiggley; and stepsister, Judy Blake.

Robert “Robbie” Young is survived by his wife, Charlene; his brother, Jack Young (Carolyn) of Lindsay; and his step-sister, Ardetta Owens (Gerald); along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at Veterans Hall, 810 H St., Crescent City, on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018, at 1 p.m., with a potluck luncheon following the service.

There will be an interment later on a sunny, summer day, to be announced at a later time.
