Thomas Lee Rocha passed away on Dec. 6, 2018, at the age of 85, in Crescent City. He passed peacefully in his sleep with his daughters Alison and Jennifer by his side.
He and his twin sister, Lynn, were born April 14, 1933, to Valentina Isobel (née Lee) and Abel Rocha in Eureka. Tom served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1954 to 1956. He received the National Defense Service Medal. He majored in accounting at Humboldt State University and became a CPA.
He loved to sail in Hawaii, where he lived for 32 years, garden and barbecue, and was immensely proud of his three children, Alison Lynn, Jeffrey Gene and Jennifer Ann; and grandchildren, Kendra Lynn, Kara Lianne, Kelsey Anne, Delanie Maura, Tommi Rose and Ellie Lynn.
Thomas “Tom” Rocha is survived by his wife, Barbara Rocha, with whom he made his home in Gasquet for the past 13 years; his twin sister, Lynn Springer; along with nieces, step-children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He will be missed by his close friends, including Dick Davis and the members of the Comus Club, of which he was the founding father. The Comus Club was Humboldt State University’s military veterans club, named for the greek god of revelry and merry-making.
He will be cremated without services according to his wishes.
