Jim made a splash being born during a flood in Crescent City in 1950. Zolan and Iris Zwierlein barely made it to the hospital in time for their first son’s arrival. He attended schools in Klamath and Crescent City, playing sports and graduating from Del Norte High School. He served in the U.S. Army, spending 13 months and five days in Vietnam.

Returning to Crescent City, he worked in the logging industry, construction, and spent decades on the ocean as a commercial fisherman. He loved hunting, fishing and seeing the country from the back of his Harley. He enjoyed a hot cup of coffee and spending time with friends.

Jim passed away at the age of 67 after a long history of heart problems. He leaves behind two daughters, a son, and six granddaughters.

A celebration of life is being held Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at 2 p.m. at the Veterans Hall, 810 H St., Crescent City.

We miss you, Dad, and will always remember that laugh!
