Why do we spend so much time and resources destroying the homeless encampment behind Safeway? What are they hurting? We can’t even see back there.

Why are they that have so little having their homes destroyed? Does our community have so little compassion that we take away the homes from those who have nothing? Yet, we can send a group to Japan on the taxpayer’s dime?

Crescent City should be ashamed at how the disadvantaged are treated. Destroying what little they have will not make the homeless move away. They will only move to another spot, like the forest behind the water tank on Washington Boulevard.

For most of us, if we lost two paychecks, we would be seeking shelter behind Safeway.

Here’s something to remember, “There but for the grace of God go I.”
