It has come to the attention of the Del Norte County Democratic Central Committee (DNCDCC) that David Mason, a candidate for supervisor of District 4, has misrepresented himself to the public.

Mason’s campaign paid for an advertisement in a “Democratic Voter Guide” that portrays him as a Democrat to the public, when in fact, he is a Republican. The DNCDCC did not authorize the “Democratic Voter Guide” that was mailed to the public.

The advertisement is clearly designed to mislead and deceive the voting public.

When a person runs for public office they are expected to have good character and be willing to serve the public with honor, honesty, dignity, and above all, integrity. Mason’s campaign has shown a serious lack of judgment and he appears willing to bend the truth to win an election.

Is this the sort of representation that you want on the Board of Supervisors? Do you really think that the person who paid for the advertisement should hold this office and represent you?

It is time for the public to stand up and say enough and reject this kind of behavior.

The DNCDCC endorsed the re-election of Supervisor Gerry Hemmingsen.
