There are only two teams left alive in the 2017 Liga la Costa playoffs after Sunday’s semifinal matchups.

No. 2 La Alianza survived a close game against Cazadores in the first game at La Joya Field on Sunday. Cazadores went ahead 2-1 midway through the second half, but La Alianza battled back for two late goals to grab a 3-2 victory and advance to the championship game.

In the late game on Sunday, No. 5 Lolitas F.C. pulled off its second straight upset of the playoffs, beating top-seeded Real Madrid to advance to the title.

La Alianza finished the regular season in a tie with Real Madrid with a 9-3-2 overall record, but Real Madrid got the top seed due to goal differential.

Lolitas F.C. had an up and down regular season going 6-7-1 overall with a goal differential of just one for the entire season.

La Alianza and Lolitas F.C. have split a pair of close games this season, with La Alianza grabbing a 3-1 win in week two, while Lolitas pulled out a 2-1 victory in the rematch in week 9.

The championship game is expected to be played Sunday at La Joya Field but the start time has yet to be announced.
