The Del Norte cross country team was back in action on Wednesday. Although the Warriors were running without two of its boys due to illness, the team saw some of its highest finishes of the season while running at the windy Samoa Drag Strip in Eureka.

Del Norte’s only girl, Julia DeSolenni, matched her best finish of the season, coming in in second place overall for the Warriors.

In the boys race, freshman Kaleo Absolo continued his assent up the ranks of the varsity race, finishing 20th overall. Absolo’s previous best varsity finish was 29, which was five places better than at the first Humboldt-Del Norte meet of the season.

Sophomore Seth Lee finished in 32nd place overall, one spot ahead of his previous best finish this season.

Freshman Isaiah Abasolo took 41st place in the boys varsity race, with senior Steven Berry right behind in 42nd place.

The Warriors will be back in action next Wednesday in Fortuna. The meet in Fortuna is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
