The Del Norte Recreation Department’s 2018 basketball season is almost at an end, with men’s leagues and the teen league hosting the championship rounds of the double elimination postseason tournament on Tuesday.

Only the Edward Jones Wolves of the Men’s Upper Division were able to wrap up the league title on Tuesday, however. The No. 2 seeded Wolves beat No. 3 Bob’s Boys on Tuesday in a rematch of their first round contest and the Wolves ran away with the win.

The top-seeded team in the teen league, Finigan Real Estate, ran into a little bit of trouble on Tuesday and lost to No. 2 The Refuge — leaving both teams with one loss in the tournament. Finigan Real Estate managed to pull out a win in the rematch on Wednesday to win the teen league playoffs.

In the men’s lower division, No. 1 seeded Discount Liquors lost to No. 2 Open Door Clinic in the second round of the tournament, but avenged that loss on Tuesday in the championship. Discount Liquors and Open Door Clinic will play a winner-take-all game on this Tuesday to decide the league champion.

A total of seven teen teams and eight men’s teams, totaling roughly 150 athletes, participated in the two leagues this year.
