The annual Del Norte Youth Football Camp will be back at the practice field at Del Norte High School next week, running from July 23 to 25. Activities will run 4–6 p.m. each day. The camp is for all interested football players from third through eighth grades.
“I just want to introduce them to the high school kids,” said Del Norte head football coach Lewis Nova. “The camp is mainly run by the high school kids. The campers will come in, we set it up and break into teams, then the high school kids are the coaches. We will do 7-on-7 drills, obstacle courses and tug-of-war with the teams. We are just working together, and working on camaraderie and sportsmanship. Our programs are built on the youth programs, so the more kids we can get involved and looking at Warrior football as they grow older, the better we will be.”
Cost to participate in the camp will be $25 and includes a camp T-shirt. Athletes can sign up on the first day of camp on Monday, starting at 3:30 p.m.
