Del Norte County will say goodbye to one of its brightest, young shining stars.
A Celebration of Life for Kirsten Jean King, 19, will be held at the Cultural Center Sunday, July 16, at 10a.m.
Kirsten was tragically killed May 31 when, driving alone, she attempted to merge her vehicle onto the northbound 101 at Kristian lane. Her Toyota was struck by a timber truck heading south. Kirsten was pronounced deceased upon arrival at Sutter Coast Hospital.
Kirsten was soon to start the nursing program at College of the Redwoods and worked full-time at Sea View Memory Care in Brookings.
“Cherish the moments we shared with Kirsten and carry forward the love and compassion she embodied,” says her mom, Mandy Bloomfield.
To help defray funeral costs, relative Chris Carpenter opened a Go Fund Me account, The KIRSTEN KING FUNERAL ACCOUNT EXPENSES. The family expressed its deep appreciation to Kirsten’s adopted community.
Kirsten’s mom lamented, “May Kirsten’s spirit guide us as we navigate the journey of grief.”
