DAR presents performance Dec. 28

The Del Norte chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will present Acoustic Journeys, an afternoon of readings of seasonal passages accompanied by classical guitar, at 2 p.m. Dec. 28 at Grace Lutheran Church, 188 E. Cooper St.

Author Paul W. Jacob will read from his book “Nomadic Devotion,” accompanied by guitarist Jacqueline Henry-Ross of Gasquet.

Books will be available at the show. A $10 donation at the door is suggested.

Jacob is a professor, author and poet who has performed throughout the U.S. and Canada, including on regional NPR shows.

Henry-Ross is classical guitarist who has toured throughout the U.S. and Mexico. She performed live on the television show “Sabado Gigante.” She directs a church choir and leads the “Home Grown Band,” which is based in Gasquet.

The Acoustic Journeys performance benefits local DAR projects of historic preservation (cleaning monuments and headstones, cemetery research and beautification), education (scholarships and Constitution Week activities) and patriotism (assisting military veterans and food/clothing pantry, Memorial Day flag placing, flag education and protocol, and Wreaths Across America).
