A crowd estimated between 1,500 and 1,800 braved the threatening weather to enjoy the Crescent City Christmas Light Parade and celebration of the lighting of the Community Christmas Tree.
The route serpentined south down H Street, easterly on 3rd Street, and south on K, to the delight of the warmly-dressed onlookers.
Parade co-sponsor Potter Real Estate praised all 25 float/ walking entries and the crowd which braved the cool temperatures observing the parade and tree lighting ceremony.
Winning entries included Del Norte High School Cheer, Marine Mammal Center. US Forest Service, Potter Real Estate, Crescent Elk and Cheer, City of Crescent City Fred Endert pool.
Special thanks was given to Green Diamond Resource for the tree donation, Hemmingsen Construction delivered the tree, the Del Norte Fair for donating the Santa Clause stage and Del Norte High School Madrigals sang carols.
Ana Potter remarked the crowd which viewed the parade and tree lighting was the largest she’s ever witnessed.
