It’s time to dust off memorized monologues and brush up on acting skills, the Lighthouse Repertory Theatre will be holding auditions for two of its upcoming one-act plays– “Suddenly Last Summer” and “The Last Dance of Salome.”

Actors can audition for either show on Feb. 4, 5 and 6 at 6:30 p.m. on 1072 3rd St. in Crescent City, and the shows will perform on April 24 to 26, May 1 to 3 and 8 to 10.

“Suddenly Last Summer,” written by Tennessee Williams, will consist of two men and five women and follows a young woman who was the sole witness to her cousin's death. No one believes her story of how he died, and her aunt is trying to convince a doctor to have her committed to a mental asylum in order to silence her.

“The Last Dance of Salome,” written by Oscar Wilde, has a cast of two women and four men and tells the Biblical story of Salome, who requests the head of John the Baptist on a silver platter as a reward for dancing the dance of the seven veils.
