It won't be a race because of COVID-19 restrictions, but organizers of the Gasquet Raft Race still hope people can have a lot of fun on the Smith River Saturday, July 11.

Last year's 50th anniversary event was the biggest ever. This year, there will be no registration and no barbecue, but rafting can be good clean fun and the event can go on as long as rafters stay socially distanced.

The yearly T-shirt with custom design will be for sale at the Gasquet American Legion hall, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Pre-orders were encouraged. Every purchased T-shirt, upon pick up at the Gasquet Legion Hall, will accompany a prepared Taylor's hot dog.

For pre-order and information, please contact: Event Coordinator, Jina Bowen 707-954-1836 or visit
