Carion Wind Quintet, winner of iTunes's Best Classical Album of 2015, will be performing a concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, in Crescent Elk Auditorium, 994 G Street, Crescent City.
The concert is free and is part of Music in the Redwoods' 75th season. The program will include works by Mozart, Nielson, Stravinsky, and others.
Carion is a Danish-Latvian ensemble that brings a truly unique and innovative chamber music experience to audiences. They fascinate with their carefully choreographed and dramatized performances of classical and modern works, making music on stage visible, adding a new dimension to traditional concert events.
The Del Norte-Curry Community Concert Association's performance series, Music in the Redwoods, has been presenting internationally acclaimed artists to the greater Crescent City and Brookings areas since 1949. As well as presenting its public concert season, the association also sponsors free master classes and outreach performances in local schools.
