It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
Weather conditions were near perfect for the annual Crescent City's Christmas Light Parade and Tree Lighting event, this past Friday.
Warmly-dressed folks, families and lots of children of all ages braved crispy cool Autumn weather, welcoming in the Holiday season. An estimated 1700 smiling faces lined G Street to Third, south on K Street to Front St.
Decorated Holiday-adorned floats, marching bands, private businesses, horse brigades l, antique classic cars and police, sheriff and fire departments pleased onlookers.
The Crescent Downtown Divas judged the 35 entries and categorized the participants into four categories. Here are the winning entrants:
* Motorized Category: Elk Valley Rancheria / Casino.
* Non-Profit: Crescent City Girl Scouts of Northern California, Troop 90648.
* Health and Safety: Ft. Dick Volunteer Fire.
* Walking: Del Norte High School Band of Warriors.
Prior to the lighting of the Holiday Tree at Price Mall, the Madrigals sang Christmas favorites. Potter Real Estate assisted in helping sponsor this event.
