Marine debris causes widespread pollution of our oceans and Waterways.
Plastic bags, cigarette butter, food wrappers and other trash can directly harm wildlife, photo degrade and even enter the food chain.
Coastal Cleanup Day (the largest volunteer event in California) is our chance to stop the pollution at its source.
Smith River Alliance will be joining forces with non-profit and agency sponsors to clean up Elk Creek and surrounding beaches, Saturday September 20. We hope you plan to attend this empowering community event as we work together to leave our wild coast and salmon strongholds better than we found them. Please mark your calendar.
