The official ribbon cutting for the Bike Pump course is Saturday morning, September 21. Build It and They Will Come knows no timetable, as area youth has discovered this wonderful new City attraction.
Kids with bikes and skateboards are already honing their skills on the new pump track… incredible to watch…Some of the “pumpsters” were properly protected with helmets; some were not… My oh My, one can only marvel how our grandparents constructed and converted their skateboards from roller skates and scrap wood or attaching a playing card and clothes pin to the bicycle wheel spoke to simulate the sound of a motor. Hey, it was just 60 years ago.
Have fun…and wear a helmet.
