Randolph (Randy) Hooper of Crescent City, age 44, was arrested on alleged felony driving under the influence hit and run incident over the weekend. Hooper is the Assistant Chief Administrative Officer for Del Norte County.
The CHP made the arrest on early April 20 Easter Sunday morning shortly after midnight, on Hwy 101.
The felony is VC 2001 Hit and Run involving a death or injury. The injury is reportedly minor. Suspect blew a .08 alcohol level according to CHP report. Additional misdemeanor charges of DUI for violation of 23153 (a) and (b) were also charged.
Hooper was booked into the jail and posted bond on all three charges.
