DAR continues preservation of monuments at Beachfront Park

A foggy June Saturday morning found Del Norte Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution cleaning monuments at Beachfront Park at Front Street in downtown Crescent City. 

Regent Cori Higgins led a group of DAR members in their quest to clean monuments for their on-going historic preservation project. The national DAR Motto is "God, Home, and Country," and the national mission is Patriotism, Historic Preservation, and Education.

Members participating were Higgins, Marlene Young, Kathy Alexander, Chris DeCossio, Paulette Eneim with a traveler volunteering to help out, Steve Bishop from Texas.

With the motto and the mission in mind, Del Norte DAR continues their work of cleaning monuments in Del Norte County. Monuments at Beach Front Park; Pebble Beach Drive; "Old Stage Road" at Elk Valley Road and Parkway Drive; Front Street; Peterson Park, and others in Crescent City/Del Norte County are much improved with the cleaning they receive at the hands of the Del Norte Chapter DAR members using the product D2. The local cemetery has benefited with a number of the headstones cleaned. This continuing project of the Del Norte DAR, promotes community improvement, historic preservation, veterans support and the motto, "God, Home, and Country" and continues activating the DAR mission statement.
