Grant to fund second school resource officer

Crescent City received a $397,000 grant from the Department of Justice, which will be used to bring a second school resource officer to Del Norte Unified School District. 
That’s according to City Manager Eric Wier, who added that monies will be enough to pay the salary and equipment costs for the position over a three-year period, and that Measure S funds may be used after that.

“We will work with Superintendent Jeff Harris to determine the best placement for the RNO, once that person is hired,” Wier said.
