Crescent City is the latest governance to join the Community Economic Resilience Fund grant application for what can only be described as one of the largest grant applications ever for Del Norte County. The vote to join the Harbor District was unanimous.
The state has divided post COVID economic recovery into 13 districts. Del Norte County is part of the Redwood Coast District, which also includes Humboldt and Mendocino counties, vying for $50 million in state funding. Del Norte partners in the grant hope to divide up as much as $10 million in grant dispersals.
Last Tuesday, harbor commissioners voted unanimously to approve the proposal as the community lead for the CERF grant application. Community Systems Solutions sent the multi-partner CERF application to the governor’s office before the grant deadline, earlier this week.
The CERF list application includes the following governances: Crescent City, Crescent Harbor District, Del Norte County, Tri- Agency Economic partners, Tolowa Dee-ni’ Nation, Del Norte Healthcare District, Redwood Parks Conservancy, North Coast Small Business Center, Elk Valley Rancheria and Del Norte Tribal Lands Community Food. Council. The CERF Application addresses 17 different Del Norte projects.
