Ian Meriedth

Ian Meriedth recently received a degree from Cal Maritime in the presence of family and fellow classmates. Following a challenging pandemic year, Meriedth graduated magna cum laude and received his BA degree in global studies and maritime affairs from California State University Maritime Academy in Vallejo on May 15. He was one of 188 undergraduates and 11 graduate students to earn their degrees at an in-person commencement ceremony held on Bodnar Field.

Located on a compact and scenic waterfront campus in Vallejo, California, Cal Maritime is a unique and specialized campus of the 23-campus California State University system. It is one of only seven degree-granting maritime academies in the United States — and the only one on the West Coast. The unique Cal Maritime program combines classroom learning with applied technology, leadership development and global awareness. Cal Maritime graduates have excellent career opportunities on land, in ports, and at sea. Ian is currently active in the U.S. Navy Reserves and is pursuing a career in Federal Law Enforcement.
