The Oregon Department of Agriculture and the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife announce a new shellfish opening. Marine biotoxin levels have fallen below alert levels in mussels on the south coast.
Sport harvest of mussels has opened from Cape Blanco to the California border. Sport mussel harvesting is now open along the entire Oregon Coast.
Sport razor clam harvesting is open from the Washington border to Cape Blanco. Sport razor clam harvesting remains closed from Cape Blanco to the California border.
Sport bay clamming and crabbing is open along the entire Oregon coast.
Oregon Department of Agriculture will continue to test for shellfish toxins weekly, as tides and weather permit. Reopening an area closed for biotoxins requires two consecutive tests with results below the closure limit.
