A Brookings man was killed after being hit by a Ford 150 traveling south on the 101, near milepost 359, south of Broookings, Saturday evening, February 22.
After the accident, pedestrian William Donald Zehdner age 63, was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Then driver of the Ford was identified as Gerald Eugene Stewart, 37 of Crescent City was uninjured. No citations have been issued at this time.
Brookings Police and Harbor Fire assisted. The southbound highway was impacted for over three hours during the on-scene investigation.
The accident is presently under State police investigation.
