Photos: Setting down the pots on the first day of crabbing 2023

A little late but crab season has finally started at the Crescent City.

Crabbers set down their pots Tuesday afternoon and with good weather prevailing, there'll be plenty of Dungeness crab coming to Market soon.

Prevailing rate for the crabbers is between $2.25 and $3.00 a pound. Crews with lots of smiles on their faces were busy loading pots on their vessels.
