Barricades between 7th and 8th Streets remain but the opening of the iconic road is soon coming.
City Manager Eric Wier hopes to have Pebble Beach Drive open by the end of February 2025, weather conditions allowing. If plans proceed as anticipated, Pebble Beach Drive will have been closed about one year. The slide originally covered a width of about 75 feet and plummeted 30 feet underneath Pebble Beach Drive.
The cliff suffered major compromise in 2016, following a tumultuous December storm.
