Smith River to host
District 3 forum
Voters will have a chance to hear directly from candidates for The Del Norte County Board of Supervisors District 3 on Tuesday, May 10, from 6 to 7 p.m., at the Smith River Community Hall, 241 W. First St., Smith River.
Three candidates are vying for the office, including Joe Akin, Frank Magarino, and two-term incumbent supervisor Chris Howard.
Attendees are invited to come with questions for the candidates.
Realtors to host
supervisor forums
The Del Norte Association of Realtors is hosting a series of three candidate forums, for the three contested seats on the Del Norte County Board of Supervisors.
The District 3 Forum will held Wednesday, May 11. Candidates include Frank Magarino, incumbent supervisor Chris Howard, and Joe Akin.
The District 4 forum will be held on Thursday, May 12. Those seeking the seat include Patty Adams, Brian Stone, Joey Borges, and Margaret Sargent.
The District 5 forum will be held on Friday, May 13. Five candidate are seeking to fill the seat. They include Susan Masten who was appointed by Governor Newsom to complete Berkowitz’s term this year, David Markel, David Jones, Terri Colton, and Dean Wilson.
All forums will be held at 6 p.m. in the Crescent City Fire Protection District at 255 W. Washington Blvd., Crescent City.
