Matthew Earl Rickner was arraigned on murder and drug charges, Wednesday, January 3. Ricker is accused of shooting and killing his mother at the family home on Humboldt Rd, Friday late evening, December 29th.
The suspect has been detained in the Del Norte County jail and awaits a bail hearing, Tuesday January 9.
The matter will be presided over by Superior Court Judge Darren McElfresh. Defense attorney Karen Olson has been appointed public defender counsel for Rickner. Todd Zocchi will prosecute for the state.
