Edward Patrick Davies, age 54 was convicted last week for Second Degree Murder of Del Norte County Deputy Sheriff Deanna Ismael, whose strangled body was found in her home in October, 2023. After his arrest, Sheriff Garrett Scott learned the convicted Davis had changed his name from Daniel James Walter prior to the incident.
A second insanity trial was conducted in Dept. 2, Monday, March 10.
James Fallwell represented the convicted Davies.
Assistant District Attorney Todd Zocchi represented the People.
Sentencing of Davies will take place Thursday, April 17th at 10AM. Deputy Ismael was the mother of actor Marty York from the 1993 movie, “The Sandlot.” DEPUTY Ismael worked asnan animal trainer on film sets before making the change to law enforcement in 2021.
