Pending payment of residual legal fees estimated to be less than $10,000, the Tri-Agency Economic Authority will officially dissolve.
In separate actions, The Harbor District, the City Council and the Board of Supervisors agreed to divide those costs equally in thirds.
The three governances could not agree to a common version of the revised Joint Powers agreement.
The breakup of Tri-Agency centered about the discussion of ocean wind generation and the inability of the three members to agree to common ground on including wind power in its governing document.
Tri-Agency was created in 1975 as an independent governance with a purpose to implement, coordinate and administer specific and general Economic programs within Del Norte County. Decisions made in recent years created unsustainable debt conditions and dysfunction that compromised any productive activity benefiting the County.
With little comment, the City Council in a Special Meeting, last Monday and the Board of Supervisors, this past Tuesday joined the Harbor District in separating from the defunct agency this breaking up Tri-Agency.
