An effort to recall Gov. Gavin Newsom appears to have fallen short.
With 60 percent of ballots counted across California, those voting in favor of keeping Newsom in office have a two-to-one advantage.
No votes, those voting to keep Newsom as governor, have 67 percent of the total vote, while yes votes are at 33 percent.
In Del Norte County, the results are reversed as the majority of voters have voted in favor of recalling the governor.
In the county, 3,517 votes cast ballots in favor of recalling the governor while 2,823 voted against.
Voters in the county also heavily favored Larry Elder if the recall effort was successful. Of the 37 candidates on the ballot, Elder was chosen by close to 60 percent of voters in Del Norte County.
Elder was also well ahead statewide with 46 percent of the vote, but the vote will not count unless the recall effort turns around rapidly.
If the vote moves closer, the Triplicate will update this post.
