World-class musicians Ilya Yakushev (piano) Thomas Mesa (cello) come together to create an unforgettable concert experience with international flair at Crescent Elk Auditorium (994 G Street) on Sunday, September 11, at 3 p.m. as the opening concert of the Del Norte-Curry Community Concert Association’s 2022-2023 season.
Yakushev, an accomplished pianist from Russia, is known for his musical pyrotechnics on the piano. Mesa, a Cuban-American cellist, is heralded as one of the most charismatic and engaging cellists of his generation. Their concert features a unique combination of musical selections, ranging from Beethoven to Joaquin Nin. This concert is free to the public.
The association has been presenting internationally acclaimed artists to the greater Crescent City and Brookings areas since 1949. The association also sponsors free master classes and Outreach Performances to students, as touring schedules allow, in addition to their scheduled public concerts.
